Classification: |
The occupations comprising the manufacturing sector are as defined by the International Standard Industrical Classification of Economic Activities in ISIC Rev. 3-D
and ISIC Rev. 2-3. Employees include both men and women.
|
|
Methodology: |
The gross income is obtained from data provided to the International Labour Organization by government agencies (such as Statistics Canada, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Statistics Finland, etc).
The deductions include all withholdings on the gross salary such as income tax, municipal tax, provincial/state income tax, social security (pension plan, medicare), compulsory additional insurance, etc. The ratio between the deductions and the gross reflects married without child status, and is obtained from income tax calculators [t], social security withholdings, the OECD Tax Database [k], or other sources. The hours are obtained from the same source as the gross income and correspond to the hours actually worked, except when italized. When italized, the hours correspond to either the normal hours of work or the hours paid for.
